I'm a Lolli!

It's official! I am a Lolli!!! Our first grandson, Henry Allen was born on August 31st, weighing 8 lbs 9 ozs and 21-1/2" long. He is without a doubt the most beautiful baby boy ever born on the face of the earth! I had the privilege of witnessing his birth! It was truly an experience I will never forget...watching my own child give birth.  Amy was such a trooper...brave, courageous and fearless. She popped Henry out in only a few pushes, after seventeen hours of labor. It was precious to watch her bond with Henry immediately...she was born to be a  mom! 

 I spent the first week and half following Henry's birth cooking meals for Amy & Travis and visiting when they weren't napping, along with Ali, who stayed in town for the first week of Henry's life. I thought I would be needed more but Travis is anxious to cook and clean for Amy and enjoy the role of parenthood, so it looks like I am back to cooking for two again! 

We spent the past weekend in San Antonio visiting Ali and Louis, their new place, checking out Louis's place of employment (from the road) and enjoying a fun dinner out celebrating Louis's birthday early. Ali has done a beautiful job of decorating and fearlessly exploring new places to shop and dine near their apartment. I miss Ali very much, but seeing how happy they are makes the distance between us easier.

It was good to get back to our Small Group Bible Study Sunday night. We're studying about God's promises and it is just what I need at this stage in my life. I'm grateful for the Christian friends God has put in my life and the love & respect we have for each other.  At my age, it's nice to be loved and respected! :-)
